Trip Grading
Choosing the Right Level for You
Finding a trip that matches your physical ability and spirit of adventure is essential for a great experience. Our Adventure Trip Grading system helps you understand the technical and physical demands of each tour. By exploring these levels, you can choose a journey that feels both safe and rewarding. Ultimately, we want you to feel confident in your choice before you ever reach the water or the trail!
At Explore Messinia, we understand that every traveler has their own vision of what is easy or difficult. While most of our journeys are designed to suit all abilities, we have created a three-level Adventure Trip Grading system to help you prepare. By exploring these levels, you can better understand what to expect from your experience. Describing our trips is one of our biggest challenges, as everyone has their own idea of what is tough or easy.
You will find the grades for each specific activity detailed below.
Grade 1 – Easy
Relaxed pace, frequent breaks, sheltered settings. No prior experience needed — your guides teach you everything before you start.
For families with kids, first-timers, and anyone with average fitness. Most of our day trips.
Grade 2 – Moderate
A steady effort over longer stretches, with some technical elements. Good general fitness or a little previous experience helps.
For active travelers comfortable being on the move for most of the day.
Grade 3 – Challenging
Demanding conditions — longer distances and exposure to wind, waves, or elevation. Previous experience and solid fitness are required.
For experienced adventurers — e.g. the open-water crossing to Sapienza island on Sea Kayak Methoni.
