River Aris 2015 environmental event was held once again in the homonymous river, River Aris is a water basin with rich biodiversity and one of the few navigable rivers in Greece. The aim of this event was to demonstrate the need of the protection of the river and its enhancement as a recreation and sports area. The Greek Rowing Federation has shown great interest in the creation of a training center in Aris, as the river is suitable for practicing rowing and paddling. Explore Messinia participated in the event, offering free of charge to everyone who attended a rowing kayak experience in the river. The event was organized for the second consecutive year by the Cultural Association of Dytikh Akti – Asprochoma “Poseidon”  in cooperation with the municipality of Kalamata.
