Une expérience de kayak de mer d’une demi-journée, adaptée à tous, le long de la côte de Kalamata, avec un délicieux pique-nique pour le déjeuner.

Kalamata n’est pas seulement dotée de certains des plus beaux paysages méditerranéens, elle offre aussi de superbes plages et côtes. La ville s’est construite harmonieusement entre le golfe de Messénie et les pentes du Taygète. Une montagne qui touche littéralement la mer. La baie de Kalamata et la côte environnante constituent une zone d’une beauté naturelle exceptionnelle, que tu peux découvrir d’une manière unique, depuis le siège d’un kayak de mer. Le kayak ici convient à tous, mais il est idéal pour les familles et les enfants.
L’excursion
Retrouve tes guides à l’extrémité est de la plage de Kalamata, juste à côté de l’hôtel Philoxenia. Avant le départ, ton guide te présentera les kayaks et l’équipement. Tu apprendras une technique de pagaie facile qui t’aidera à profiter pleinement de l’expérience. Très vite, tu commences à pagayer à un rythme tranquille. Nous nous arrêtons régulièrement pour raconter des histoires, afin que tout le monde passe un excellent moment en mer. En longeant la côte à l’est de Kalamata, nous aurons l’occasion de voir la ville de loin. Nous profiterons du paisible golfe de Messénie en pagayant près de ports pittoresques, de falaises spectaculaires et de criques secrètes aux plages de sable. Avec un peu de chance, nous pourrons observer la faune, comme la célèbre tortue marine Caretta caretta.
En glissant sur l’eau, tu te rendras vite compte à quel point le kayak est facile et sans effort. Dans les endroits où l’eau est la plus belle, nous ne manquerons pas l’occasion de nager, de faire du snorkeling et de chercher des coquillages. À mi-parcours, nous ferons une grande pause sur une plage, pour nager ou simplement se détendre. Ici, nous dégusterons un délicieux pique-nique composé de pain fraîchement cuit, de fruits et légumes du jardin, d’huile d’olive maison et de fromage. Après le déjeuner, nous pagayerons de retour jusqu’au point de départ pour terminer un voyage dont tu te souviendras longtemps.

La plupart de nos clients découvrent le kayak pour la première fois. L’excursion Kayak de mer à Kalamata est facile à prendre en main, et les débutants peuvent réaliser une belle sortie dès leur première expérience de kayak de mer. Les kayaks que tu utiliseras sont ultra stables et conviennent à tous les niveaux, même si tu n’as jamais pagayé. Quel sera le rythme ?
Toutes nos sorties sont avant tout des aventures. Nous pagayons à un rythme tranquille ; nous apprenons en chemin et profitons du milieu marin. Si tu es un groupe de pagayeurs expérimentés souhaitant réaliser une sortie exigeante, une excursion privée sera la meilleure option.
Que dois-je porter ?
Nous te conseillons de porter des vêtements que tu ne crains pas de mouiller un peu. Le maillot de bain est indispensable si tu veux nager, ainsi qu’un t-shirt à séchage rapide, une casquette ou un chapeau, des lunettes de soleil et un short. Les chaussures de running et les chaussettes ne sont pas recommandées, car elles se gorgent d’eau. Les chaussures d’eau, les sandales ou les tongs conviennent très bien. Une couche légère en polypropylène ou en polaire est à prévoir pour les sorties du début du printemps et de la fin de l’automne. Des sacs étanches sont fournis pour ranger ton téléphone ou d’autres effets personnels.

Dois-je réserver une sortie standard ou une sortie privée ?
Si tu es d’accord pour partir avec un groupe mixte ou si tu ne veux pas dépenser autant, réserver une sortie de groupe standard est la meilleure option. Les sorties privées fonctionnent surtout très bien avec des groupes de pagayeurs expérimentés ou des groupes d’amis qui veulent faire quelque chose d’un peu différent, aimeraient une aventure plus avancée, ou veulent simplement être tranquilles et profiter de la sortie entre eux.
Le déjeuner est-il inclus ?
Oui, simple, nutritive et savoureuse, la nourriture fait partie des plaisirs de nos sorties. À mi-parcours, nous faisons une pause détente dans un bel endroit pour déguster un pique-nique avec du pain fraîchement cuit, des fruits et légumes bio du jardin, de l’huile d’olive maison et du fromage.
Quel itinéraire allons-nous suivre ?
Nous effectuons généralement nos sorties sur un itinéraire défini, en visant à visiter les plus beaux endroits que chaque sortie a à offrir ; toutefois, ton guide pourra choisir un itinéraire alternatif adapté aux conditions du jour ainsi qu’à l’expérience et aux besoins du groupe. C’est la manière la plus sûre et la plus efficace d’organiser des sorties en kayak.
Où puis-je garer ma voiture ?
Tu peux garer ton véhicule en toute sécurité et gratuitement près de notre point de rendez-vous. N’hésite pas à nous demander les conditions de stationnement pour une sortie spécifique.
Que se passe-t-il si la météo n’est pas favorable ?

My wife and I, along with our two sons (aged six and nine) did the sea kayaking tour from Kalamata in July 2025. We had a fantastic time. Totally safe with all the necessary équipement and explanations, providing a great experience for my sons who had never kayaked before. A beautiful tour along the coast south of Kalamata, allowing us to explore sites inaccessible by car/foot. Our two guides from Explore Messina were brillant - friendly, fun, expert, patient; they made it an unforgettable experience and set a pace which managed to be physically challenging while not impossible for those who haven’t kayaked before. They were in addition excellent teachers, teaching us important fundamentals. The lunch they bought for us, on a beautiful beach, was also delicious. A true highlight of our holiday and an activity I would definitely recommend to others.
My partner and I had a wonderful time experiencing the bay of Kalamata with George. George was a very knowledgeable guide who was exceptional at explaining the mechanics of kayaking as well as the history of the area. He had a great lunch picked out with local Kalamata olives, a loaf of bread, and greens to round out the meal. We would absolutely recommend the experience.

Big thanks to Trifonas and especially our guide Fotis who took us on the E-bike tour through the olive groves, country lanes of Kalamata and eventually riding through the city ending up in the park for a lovely picnic lunch of local bread and products absolutely fantastic tour, highly recommended it and dealing with Trifonas - Explore Messinia. Fotis was a great guide full of knowledge especially on olive trees , olives and looking after the trees my wife and I found it very interesting really enjoyed his company, my wife and I love to meet/ chat to locals about everyday in life in their community and country, the joys of travel. When the Kalamata kayaking was cancelled by the coast guard due to rough seas, I had the unexpected pleasure of taking the first e-bike tour of the beautiful olive groves and hills above the city, followed by a ride through the city, culminating on a picnic lunch on the jetty out in the harbor. Our guides were fun, considerate, and knowledgeable. I had a blast !
I went on 23 June 2022 on the Sea Kayak trip and it was a great experience!! It was my first experience with a kayak on sea and I would certainly do it again with Explore Messinia Team. Our guide Giorgos is a Top-guide, with a lot of humour Hé told us a lot of history facts of Kalamata and he showed us nice places at the caves in sea. It was amazing to swim in those caves!! And on top of it all, we also had a very tasty and healthy picknick on a beautiful little beach. So thank you, Explore Messinia Team and Giorgos for this wonderful experience!!

My boyfriend and I booked a kayaking trip around Kalamata and the experience exceeded our expectations. Surrounded by beautiful scenic views around the coast and extremely welcoming guides, we explored the caves and took a break to have some lovely handmade kalamata lunch (all included) on a remote part of the beach, followed by a dip in the sea. The kayaking was a unique and fun method of visiting exclusive parts of the coast and led to some fantastic holiday photos. This trip was worth every penny and made the holiday, and I would like to thank Trifonas for his hospitality and overall helpfulness throughout our holiday. I could not recommend this Kalamata kayaking trip enough.

Brilliant day sea kayaking. I had never done this before. I was part of a small group booked on this. Our guide was amazing and fun. He was very experienced, very safety conscious and got us all kitted comfortably in life jackets that fitted before we started. He was entertaining and knowledgeable, supported us all and took great photos so we didn't need to! A super experience and highly recommended.

Cool kayak tour with the family! After a short technical introduction we started with good equipment along the coast. Tempo, info and breaks including picnic also suitable for the kids. Our guide Roque had very good background information on kayaking, but also on history, landscape, deep sea diving etc. A very successful trip!
Honestly, this was the best day! I was fairly nervous beforehand but Rock our instructor was incredible and gave very practical and easy tips for how to make the paddle boarding easier and more enjoyable. His local knowledge was extensive and the picnic lunch was perfect. He even gave us tips of some great restaurants in the area and more suggestions of places to explore. This area of Greece is blessed with beautiful scenery, quiet, calm beaches and crystal clearwater our adventure out on the surf was one of the highlights of our holiday. And I would certainly recommend this to anyone.
What an amazing trip we had. the guides were informative, and considerate for us oldies. 3 ladies over 60. the water in the morning was so calm, but gave us excitement on the return with a bit more swell.
We wanted to take a break from lounging around all day and find an adventure! All four of us (including two kids, age 9 and 7) had a great time - this was a fun way to experience the sea and sun that got us moving a bit too. We loved the delicious picnic on a shady spot on the beach where the kids could snorkel around a bit. George, our amazing guide, was so enthusiastic and great with the kids. Highly recommend!

What a lovely tour of the coast of Kardamyli! Our two guides were just so welcoming, so knowledgeable, so much fun! We have done similar tours before, but this topped it, because it included the lunch on the beach, because of the amazing blue cave experience and really because of the way in which the group was held together by the guides, through group explanations about the area, but also through individual chats and some fun team activities. We also really appreciated that they took so many photos of us, so we didn't have to bother with our phones at all, which made it much more relaxing. Highly recommended, more than worth the money.

It was our first time when we went kayaking on the sea. I was a bit worried that I cannot keep pace with the group, but it was not the case. Our hosts were amazing and made us feel good and relaxed. They told us a bit about the surrounding area and showed us some beautiful secret places. I never thought that I will enjoy an experience that much.
Great day out. Fun and experienced guide, who also provided a lovely lunch. The slightly windy and cloudy weather conditions actually added to the atmosphere of the trip and provided the backdrop to some spectacular photos. We saw some wonderful wildlife and parts of the coast that can't be seen from the land. Would definitely recommend.

We felt at ease the whole trip which lasted about 3 hours. We are beginners at kayaking, and felt safe and looked after. The guides made the trip fun for the kids and chatted nicely with the adults. I would recommend without hesitation. And we had a lovely Greek lunch with some stories about the lunch from the guides (Giorgos and Christos). They were the nicest of fellas who embodied the Greek lifestyle of easy going, warm, friendly, and enjoyed a laugh and liked having fun.

We had a fantastic day with Rock sea kayaking! We took a beautiful trip around the amazing scenery and had a lovely lunch on a hidden beach. We also had a swim around the beach in its crystal blue waters. We were running late due to getting a bit lost but they waited for us and was Rock was very welcoming and friendly! He took care of everyone and it was so nice that it was a small group of 5 and it wasn’t crowded and an over filled experience! He was also very knowledgeable about the area which was very interesting to learn about. Would 10/10 recommend!
This was a great kayaking experience (and my first!). The leaders were helpful, cheerful, patient and experienced. They corralled the group several times on the water so we stayed together. They gave a guided tour of the area and history. They led us to caves to explore and best of all the swim in the deep pool inside a cave. They prepared a healthy lunch for us and let us swim on a beach before returning to the start. One of my favorite experiences on the entire trip to Greece.

The Exploring Messina Team was fantastic! I would give it a 6/5 if possible. The kayak trip was beautiful. We saw two caves and jumped into an incredible blue lagoon. George took great pictures along the way and treated us to a delicious lunch on the beach. George was an informative, thoughtful, positive and enthusiastic leader. Roque and Giannis were kind and and conscientious helpers. My husband and I completely loved this adventure and would highly recommend it to others.
The day out was awesome and super unique! My partner and I had the tour guides to ourselves, which made it much more personal. We learnt a lot more about the culture and history of Greece and the area we were kayaking - awesome story telling might I add! We went during May, which I recommend if you want to avoid tourists, although the water is slightly cold, I'd rather paddle with no one around than swim and share!

Stelios took us (family with two kids 10 & 12 years) to the half day sea kayaking trip in Kalamata. We met on time and got a friendly & professional introduction for the paddling. The boats provided were professional and in perfect conditions. We highly enjoyed paddling along the coast. Covered distance and speed were adjusted to the participants. It was not only a superp excursion but also an interesting exchange with Stelios about Greece and Greek culture & food.

We had a guided sea kayak tour with my family, from Kardamilly This was really fantastic, we enjoyed the landscapes from the sea, the discovery of the cave was just unique, good food, nice atmosphere, and a real plus for Georg you guide. He was really kind, professional, relax, and shared some interesting historical features.

A lovely way to explore the beautiful coastline and turquoise sea around Kalamata. Our guide, George showed us lots of tips for open sea, coast and cave kayaking and introduced us to the wonders of oregano, salt and olive oil for lunch. A fabulous introduction to the area, thank you.

The waters and the course are beautiful. Lots of cool anecdotes, one of the best Kayaking expeditions we’ve ever done! Georges is perfectly Anglophone and even almost Francophone, he is a very good guide, professional and pedagogue. Thanks again!

Me & my two boys really enjoyed the tour! George, the guide, was clearly very competent and experienced, and he is also very kind and patient. He did an excellent job keeping my two kids entertained and taught my older one some cool techniques. We all loved it - the local snacks included! The only downside was maybe the coastline. It’s very nice, no doubt, but I think another tour (e.g. Kardamyli) would have been even more exciting to visit. We like the natural, more untouched landscapes and “off the beaten track” adventures. But this was not George’s fault, as it was our decision to go on the Kalamata tour due to timing issues we had. Thank you for a great day. We would definitely book with Explore Messina again and can highly recommend it.
A wonderful kayak tour with guide Anna and George. The two know many stories and beautiful caves and coves for swimming and picnicking. Highlight was the turtle and the picnic. George brought us back safely through wind and waves. Thank you very much. I will definitely come back next year!

The sea kayaking was definitely one of the highlights of our trip letting us see the coast of Kalamata from a whole new perspective. The guys were extremely knowledgeable and reassuring and took us to some incredible sea caves, and also absolutely hilarious - they really made the trip. Thank you for having us we cannot recommend it enough!
It was just a day of glory! For the first time in a kayak and quickly synchronously paddled (thanks to good introduction!) the bay was ne balanced and even kept a quick with a seal! Thousand thanks 🌟
The whole tour was fabulous but the highlight for me was the amazing blue cave we entered. The colour was out of this world, lets keep it a secret!! The rest of the tour was given professionally, we learnt lots of local information and generally had a fantastic morning with Anna and George. Cant recommend it enough.
We stay regularly on j know existed! All done with great expertise, in a light touch style with great communication skills. Kit was first rate too. I couldn't recommend this trip more highly! Just do it!

What a wonderful tour with Ana and Giorgos, most experienced guide! Being so close to the waterline, we got to know the coast from a different perspective, and we even had the opportunity to spot a sea turtle!

A combination of knowledge, professionalism, fun, education, motivation! The drivers have the ability to "feel" what the individual would want and almost "instinctively" adjust the proportion of the above to the "right" dose at any time. They love what they do and they transmit! Having done enough river kayaking, I did not expect to find such interest in sea kayak, even technically. I'll do it again!
We came in November and despite the rough seas we were alone with our great guide, George, who allowed us to see lots of exciting things and did not hesitate to share interesting anecdotes about Mani. Despite being unable to enter the caves due to the waves, George managed to make this moment very pleasant. We will remember for a very long time this superb experience, which is well worth its price. We recommend 100%, even for beginners!
I have spent three days with them learning kayak skills. As a rookie doing kayak, i never thought i could learn so many tips from these lessons. Fotis, George and Trifonas are very friendly and professional the same time. Since then, I highly recommend them to everyone i know.

Fabulous...Alex was a great guide, wonderful scenery, particularly enjoyed lunch - dipping greek bread into olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper on a beautiful deserted little beach after a wonderful snorkelling dip in the sea :)
Was a great experience. End of season so we were only two plus the instructor Alex.. enjoyed on the water and all in all covered a long way and visited 2 beaches! Definitely worth it..
We had a nice, relaxed day paddling around the coast near Kalamata with another couple in two tandem kayaks. Our guide, George, brought along an excellent picnic and had lots of interesting stories to tell about the local area and scenery.
Alex was a kind and fun guide who made sure we understood how to kayak and provided safety tips. Along the way and at the stops he took many pictures and pointed out cultural points of interests. He made sure the pace was leisurely (which we wanted) and provided a delicious, fresh tasting lunch. We highly recommend this trip to enjoy the beautiful Greek culture.
Our guide, George, was brilliant and very knowledgeable on local history and wildlife. We had a great time kayaking and snorkelling in Navarino Bay, and visiting Sphactiria island. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, it was one of the highlights of our holiday !
I highly recommend this kayak trip on the turquoise waters of the Mani area, in Kardamyli. the scenery is beautiful, and it is quite accessible to non-sportsmen and families. We had a great time in the company of our instructor George, who is very professional, and very kind and passionately shared the anecdotes on the sites visited. Especially beautiful caves. We went sea kayaking with Stelios near Kardamily. The experience was great because we were able to see great places and this activity is suitable for those who have no experience. Our guide was infinitely kind with the desire to show us plenty of hidden places. Recommend without a doubt!
We were with 2 children 8 and 10 years old to go sea kayaking, we had a great time with George who made us take a wonderful ride along the coast, then swim with picnic on the beach. We highly recommend this outing the scenery is superb, the supervision is excellent +++++

We had a great day with Alex and stelios, the activity is very nice and the beautiful scenery, the Greek picnic on the creek is perfect and hearty, and in addition you can discover the surroundings in mask and snorkel loaned by the team, I highly recommend, the prices are reasonable, the staff whether by email, phone or guides are adorable, and speaks very well English and some French! Not having a car one of the guides picked us up directly from our house and it is a service we have much appreciated Undoubtedly do it again!!!
We spent a fantastic few hours exploring the coastline around Kardimili. We know the area quite well, but this gave us a whole new experience of this beautiful area. Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The standard of kayaking equipment was very good. We had the opportunity to explore sea caves and do some snorkeling. We enjoyed a nice,simple picnic on the beach before an open sea return to Kardimili. The guides took plenty of photos which were sent to us via a link. Highly recommended!
We took a kayak trip with the family. We were able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes with a different point of view in peace. The advice given was valuable and the coaching great. Two-seater canoes make it easy for children to participate. Rich, pleasant and fantastic experience. The whole family loved it. I recommend.
Great! Perfect organization, super friendly guides, a delicious Greek picnic in a small secluded cove. An activity that appeals to the whole family, young children and teenagers. Departure at 9:30 am and return at 2:30 pm. We highly recommend!
